The Holy Trinity Vocation Ministry was formed in the fall of 2024 after a Vocation Workshop that was held for parishes throughout the Archdiocese of San Antonio. The workshop helped train, equip, and encourage priests and the laity to ignite a vibrant culture of vocations in their home parishes. The goal of Vocation Ministry is to help create an environment at Holy Trinity that encourages and allows men and women to easily say “YES” to God’s call in their lives to the priesthood, consecrated life, or sacramental marriage.
The Vocations Chalice encourages families to pray and promote vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life, and to pray for the vocations of the members in their own family. The Chalice is a tangible reminder of this special intention for the Church. The Church highlights the responsibility of the laity to pray for and support vocations. Praying for vocations is a powerful way to support vocations; a vocation is a call from the Holy Spirit, a gift from God that is nurtured in prayer. When we pray for vocations, we lift up to our Father those men and women whom He is calling to follow Him in a very special way. We hope that those who bring the chalice home will continue to pray daily for vocations. The Chalice is given to families at the 9:30 am or 1:30 pm Mass.
