The 2026 Middle School Edge Retreat registration will open online here January 2026.
Spots are first come, first serve! Spots will NOT be held in advance.

Edge Retreat 2026
For: 6th-8th Graders
Dates: Friday, February 27th - Sunday, March 1st , 2026
Location: Deer Creek Camp (Medina, TX)
Cost: $TBD (includes lodging, meals, supplies, shirt, and bus transportation)

Frequently Asked Questions

• What time will the group depart and return?
  • On Friday, February 27th check in will be from 5:00pm-5:45pm at Holy Trinity with departure shortly thereafter.  The group will return for 5PM Teen Mass on Sunday, March 1st. This will fulfill the Sunday Mass Obligation. All retreatants will sit together in the Life Teen section. Everyone will be dismissed after Mass.
• What was last year's theme?
  • All Heart: An Edge Retreat on Self-Worth
    • King David is a figure we hear about often in the bible. From David's outward appearance, especially as a youth, one would doubt he would grow up to be one of the greatest kings in history. There is more to David than first impressions reveal. This retreat is designed to help middle school youth look beyond the outward appearance into their hearts and those of others. Youth will be challenged to see the dignity they possess as sons or daughters of God.

• What is the lodging like?
  • Middle schoolers will be placed in cabins that have heating/AC. There will be numerous bunk beds in each cabin. A minimum of 2 adults (both VIRTUS Safe Environment trained) will also stay in the cabin. The camp has young men on one side of the camp and young ladies on the other. The bathrooms are an easy walk from the cabins. 
• What occurs on the retreat?
  • The retreat will consist of 4 main sessions, each with a fun activity, a talk provided by a core team member, small group discussion and prayer. There will be opportunities for structured free time, sports, the camp store/coffee shop, and the sacrament of reconciliation. Eucharistic Adoration will be held Saturday evening, and an explanation will be provided as well as praise and worship by the team.
• My child is a picky eater / My child has food allergies. What options will be available for them?
  • We will know the menu closer the retreat dates. We ask all parents who are willing to donate a snack for the youth so they have things to munch on throughout the weekend. Food allergies such as gluten, dairy and nuts can be accommodated, there will be space on the registration form to let us know.
• Something's come up and my child can no longer attend. What's the refund policy?
  • Due to contracts with the retreat site and bus company, there will be no refunds after a certain date. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and appreciate your understanding.
